FriendChef Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
FriendChef is published by Monkweh Studios. This policy explains the information FriendChef handles to provide recipe, pantry, meal planning, shopping, social cooking, and food exchange features.
Information FriendChef handles
FriendChef may store information users choose to add, including display name, pantry items, recipes, recipe notes, saved recipes, meal plans, shopping list items, household membership, cooking history, community posts, comments, likes, follows, food-exchange listings, selected photos, scanned recipe text, and time-capsule entries.
FriendChef uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to create an app identity for sync. Development builds may also use a temporary device identifier for backend testing. Production releases should use Firebase Authentication as the durable sync identity.
Photos, video frames, voice, and OCR
FriendChef may process user-selected photos or video frames to scan recipes and may store selected community or memory photos. The app does not request broad storage access. Microphone access is optional and used only for voice-enabled cooking or voice-note features when the user grants permission.
How information is used
Information may be used to save recipes, pantry items, meal plans, and shopping lists; sync household and personal cooking data across devices; show recipe recommendations and pantry matches; support community posts, comments, likes, follows, and food exchange; and improve app reliability, safety, and user experience.
FriendChef does not sell personal information.
Third-party services
FriendChef currently uses Firebase services for authentication and cloud data sync. It may also use Android, Google Play, and device services for app delivery, notifications, system pickers, and crash/reliability signals.
User choices
Users choose what recipes, pantry items, posts, listings, photos, and notes they add. Users can remove local items in the app where delete controls exist.

Users can request deletion of account-linked cloud data through the FriendChef account deletion page or by emailing Monkweh Studios.
